WITH ASCENTS OF PARCHAMO (6273m) & RAMDUNG PEAK (5930m) A unique opportunity for you to take part in a Climbing Expedition to the remote Rolwaling area of Nepal. To minimise our impact on the mountain environment we travel as a self contained group and our cooks use only kerosene for cooking. All rubbish is packed out for disposal at sites set up by the local government. We offer the guided ascents of both Parchamo & Ramdung Peaks. Set in the spectacular surroundings, these are quite inaccessible 6000m peaks. Set close to the Tibetan border, the summit of Parchamo is an amazing viewpoint. The mountains are graded as moderate to climb i.e. requires the use of ropes, crampons and ice axe, but is within the capabilities of most fit winter climber/hillwalkers. The group will be accompanied by an experienced British himalayan guide, high altitude Sherpa's and a guide of the Nepalese Mountaineering Association. This expedition takes participants through the romote Rolwaling valley, exiting into the Khumbu Himal. It is a good choice for first timers to Himalayan Trekking and Climbing. As always, feel free to call us to discuss your special needs on this adventure. Seldom is the daily walk more than 8 or 9 miles, utilising traditional stopping points. Base Camp. Our base camps will be situated at altitudes of about 4900m. We will establish our high camps from there whilst acclimatising. The Climb. We will leave base camps mid-morning to climb to pre-prepared high camps at about 5400 metres. After our ascents are completed the group will cross the Tashi Laptsa pass into the Khumbu region and on to Lukla. Flight from Lukla. We fly out from Lukla at 3000 meters. Lukla is a small STOL (Short Take Off & Landing) airfield close to our mountains.
